“Kebetkache Women Development & Resource Centre” celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child, 11th October 2019 by training school girls on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
It was beautiful and eventful as girls from various government secondary schools were empowered and taught topics relating to the female gender. A pep talk on Reproductive and Sexual Health Right was given, the girls were given the opportunity to share their little experiences and sought advice on how to tackle pressures and advances from the opposite sex. Sanitary pads and Pant liners were shared to the girls as a celebration of the girl child.

The girl child needs all the attention and training she can get.
Yes, taking proper care of the girl child is an integral step to societal growth. The society today shouldn’t only focus on developing the male child, the both gender should be taken very seriously. As seen in the society today, women are the most affected and it’s disheartening, but these NGOs for women development have created a path for the girl child. It means the society isn’t asleep.
More should be done.
